Charles Kaye
Global growth equity, China PE, India PE, healthcare investing, financial services PE, Warburg Pincus franchise
Charles Kaye joined Warburg Pincus in 1986 and served as Co-CEO alongside Joseph Landy from 2012, before transitioning to a senior advisory role. Warburg Pincus, founded in 1966, is one of the oldest and most globally diversified private equity firms, with a particular focus on growth equity investing rather than traditional leveraged buyouts. The firm has been an early and persistent investor in China, India, and other emerging markets, building one of the deepest PE franchises in those regions. Major investments have spanned financial services, healthcare, technology, and consumer sectors across the US, Europe, and Asia. Under Kaye's leadership, Warburg maintained its distinctive growth orientation — investing in companies earlier in their development cycles than typical buyout firms — which gave the firm access to investments unavailable to more leveraged-oriented competitors.
