Wang Chuanfu founded BYD (Build Your Dreams) in 1995 as a rechargeable battery manufacturer in Shenzhen and has built it into arguably the most important electric vehicle company in the world. BYD surpassed Tesla in total vehicle sales volume, delivering millions of new energy vehicles (BEVs and PHEVs) annually. The company's vertical integration is unmatched in the auto industry — BYD manufactures its own lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade batteries, automotive-grade semiconductors, electric motors, and complete vehicles, giving it extraordinary cost control and technology development speed.
