Tom Lee
Co-founded Fundstrat (2014); consistently bullish S&P 500 targets often above consensus; early and persistent Bitcoin bull — predicted $25K+ when BTC was $5K; CNBC regular appearance; combined fundamental and technical framework.
Tom Lee studied molecular biology at Cornell University and worked as a research analyst at various investment banks before becoming JP Morgan's chief US equity strategist. In 2014 he co-founded Fundstrat Global Advisors, an independent research firm. Lee has become one of the most widely followed equity strategists in the United States through his consistent bullishness on US equities and through his early and persistent advocacy for cryptocurrency. He provided one of the earliest mainstream financial analyses of Bitcoin as a potential significant asset class, making specific price targets that were often substantially above market consensus. While his Bitcoin calls have sometimes proven premature, he has been directionally correct on Bitcoin's long-term appreciation. His equity market calls — typically expressed as year-end S&P 500 price targets — have often been above consensus and have been partially vindicated in bull market years. Lee has been a regular and recognisable figure on CNBC and other financial media. His Fundstrat research combines fundamental economic analysis with technical market analysis and quantitative indicators, providing institutional clients with actionable market views.
