Tom Farley
NYSE leadership, SPAC sponsor activity, IPO market, company listing decisions, blank check company innovation
Tom Farley served as President of the New York Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2018, the most visible operational leadership role at the world's most iconic stock exchange. At NYSE, he oversaw the exchange's listings franchise, trading operations, and its relationships with public companies. After leaving NYSE, Farley founded Acamar Partners and became one of the more visible SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) sponsors during the 2019-2021 SPAC boom. His exchange background gave him credibility in guiding private companies through the process of becoming public entities. He later led FLIR Systems' acquisition talks and took on various roles as a company builder and capital markets advisor. Farley subsequently became CEO of Bullish, a digital asset exchange backed by Peter Thiel and other prominent technology investors, bringing his exchange infrastructure expertise to cryptocurrency markets.
