Founder; lead protocol designer · Skycoin (project)

Designed Obelisk consensus, coinomics, and early protocol architecture

Led development of the core technical stack that determined how Skycoin functions as a cryptocurrency and network platform. Responsible for authoring the Obelisk consensus design, drafting the initial whitepapers that set fixed supply and distribution rules, and implementing protocol modules that drive transaction processing and coin allocation. Those concrete design decisions directly established the token's emission schedule, prevented typical proof-of-work mining inflation, and enabled the use of Skycoin within the project's ecosystem. Directed engineering of Skywire and the Fiber infrastructure components, coordinating releases of reference clients and developer tooling. Management choices around modular node software, routing primitives, and the mesh networking approach translated into practical capabilities for bandwidth incentivization and affected on-chain demand for Skycoin through usage-based token flows and service payments. Held decision authority over initial token distribution events, premines and allocations to project development, which concretely influenced circulating supply and early liquidity dynamics on exchanges. Public commits, repository management and protocol upgrades signed off by this lead shaped how downstream contributors implemented features and how third-party services integrated Skycoin into wallets and nodes. Maintained long-running public presence as the project's technical authority; published technical notes, responded to audit requests and guided fixes for client security issues. Those documented steps materially affected market perceptions, integration choices by infrastructure providers, and the practical utility of the token within Skycoin's own network offerings.
