Guruprasad Mudlapur

Managing Director of Bosch India · Bosch India

Runs Bosch's Indian operations across auto components, power tools, and industrial tech — the German engineering giant's gateway to one of the world's fastest-growing automotive markets.

Guruprasad Mudlapur leads Bosch Limited, the Indian listed subsidiary of German engineering conglomerate Robert Bosch GmbH, which holds over 70% of the company. Bosch India is one of the country's largest auto component manufacturers, producing fuel injection systems, braking systems, automotive electronics, starter motors, and generators for virtually all major Indian and international automakers operating in India. Beyond automotive, Bosch India also manufactures power tools (for professional and consumer use), security and communication systems, and industrial technology products. The company operates multiple manufacturing plants across India and has a significant engineering and R&D center that serves both Indian and global Bosch operations. India's automotive market offers compelling structural growth: car penetration remains very low by global standards (~30 cars per 1,000 people vs. 800+ in the US), the transition from two-wheelers to four-wheelers is accelerating with rising incomes, and India's BS-VI emission standards have significantly increased the electronic content per vehicle. Key stock drivers include Indian auto production volumes, passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle sales mix, emission technology content growth, EV component opportunities, parent company technology transfer, and the Make in India policy benefiting localized manufacturing.
