Ric Edelman
Retail financial planning, RIA industry building, personal finance education
Ric Edelman co-founded Edelman Financial Services in 1987, which eventually merged with Financial Engines to become Edelman Financial Engines — one of the largest registered investment advisers in the US with over $200 billion in assets under management. He built his practice serving middle-class American families who were underserved by traditional financial advice. Edelman has written numerous bestselling personal finance books and hosted radio shows for decades. He is also known for his research on digital assets and their role in investment portfolios. Edelman founded the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals (DACFP) to educate financial advisers about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets — arguing that mainstream financial advisers needed to understand these instruments to serve their clients appropriately as digital assets became an established component of retail investment portfolios.
