Rob Speyer
Global commercial real estate development, iconic property management, mixed-use urban development, real estate PE fundraising
Rob Speyer became President and CEO of Tishman Speyer, a firm co-founded by his father Jerry Speyer and Robert Tishman. The firm develops, operates, and manages premium real estate in major markets globally, with an iconic portfolio including Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, 30 Rockefeller Plaza (headquarters of NBC), and major commercial and residential developments in the US, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Tishman Speyer made news with its 2006 acquisition of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village apartment complexes in New York for $5.4 billion — which subsequently became one of the largest real estate defaults in US history when the deal's underwriting assumptions proved incorrect. Rob Speyer has worked to expand and diversify the firm's global portfolio. Under his leadership, Tishman Speyer developed Studio, a global network of flexible office campuses designed for innovative companies seeking high-quality collaborative workspaces.
