Rob Citrone

Rob Citrone trained at Julian Robertson's Tiger Management before founding Discovery Capital Management in 1999. He specialised in emerging market and global long-short equity strategies, building expertise in identifying mispriced opportunities in developing economies alongside global macro positioning. Discovery Capital grew to manage approximately $5 billion, with a strategy spanning developed and emerging market equities, currencies, and macro positions. Citrone is known for his deep fundamental research approach combined with attention to macro catalysts that can move markets across countries and regions. He built Discovery Capital into one of the most respected emerging-market-focused long-short equity managers globally. Unlike many Tiger Cubs who focused predominantly on developed market equities, Citrone's differentiated focus on emerging markets gave Discovery distinctive edge in identifying global opportunities.
