Paul Mahon leads Great-West Lifeco as President and CEO, managing one of the world's largest insurance and financial services groups with approximately 33 million customers. The company is controlled by the Desmarais family through Power Corporation of Canada and IGM Financial. Great-West operates through three main subsidiaries: Canada Life (the leading Canadian life insurer, providing insurance, wealth management, and retirement services), Empower (the second-largest retirement plan recordkeeper in the United States with over $1.5 trillion in assets, built through acquisitions of Prudential's retirement business, MassMutual's retirement division, and Personal Capital), and Irish Life (Ireland's largest life insurer).
