Mindy Lubber
Climate risk disclosure, investor engagement on ESG, SEC climate rules advocacy
Mindy Lubber has served as president and CEO of Ceres since 2003. Under her leadership, Ceres built a network of institutional investors — including CalPERS, CalSTRS, and major asset managers — collectively managing over $60 trillion in assets that use Ceres as a coordination platform for investor engagement on climate risk. She was instrumental in persuading major corporations to improve climate disclosure and in advocating for the SEC's mandatory climate disclosure rules. Ceres has been central to the institutional investor push for corporate sustainability transparency. Lubber's work helped establish the principle that climate change constitutes a material financial risk that boards, management teams, and investors have a fiduciary obligation to assess and disclose, fundamentally reshaping how the investment community discusses environmental risk.
