Built Macau's largest integrated resort complex with Galaxy Macau, transforming a construction materials company into a $25 billion gaming empire in the world's richest casino market
Francis Lui serves as Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, inheriting leadership from his father Lui Che-woo, one of Hong Kong's legendary tycoons who built a construction materials fortune before pivoting into gaming. Galaxy Entertainment was awarded one of just six gaming concessions in Macau and has built Galaxy Macau on Cotai into one of the world's largest and most successful integrated resort complexes. Galaxy Macau features thousands of hotel rooms across multiple luxury brands, extensive gaming floors, the world's largest rooftop wave pool, premium shopping, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The resort's focus on the mass-market and premium mass segments (as opposed to the volatile high-roller VIP business) has proven to be the right strategic positioning, as Macau's gaming recovery has been led by mass-market tourists rather than VIP gambling. Phase 4 of Galaxy Macau is under development, adding significant new hotel rooms, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) facilities, and entertainment capacity. Galaxy Entertainment is also pursuing integrated resort opportunities in Japan and has significant net cash on its balance sheet (approximately $5+ billion), providing financial flexibility. Key stock drivers include Macau gross gaming revenue (GGR) growth, mass-market vs. VIP mix, visitation from mainland China, Phase 4 opening timeline and returns, Japan integrated resort developments, Macau gaming concession terms, competition among the six concessionaires, and the broader recovery of Chinese outbound tourism.
