Asset Management CEO · BlackRock

ETF industry, risk technology (Aladdin), ESG mainstream integration, institutional asset management

Larry Fink co-founded BlackRock in 1988 and built it into the world's largest asset manager with over $10 trillion in AUM. He pioneered the Aladdin risk management technology platform, which is used by BlackRock and hundreds of other financial institutions. BlackRock's iShares franchise is the world's largest ETF provider. Fink became influential beyond asset management through his annual letters to CEOs, in which he addressed corporate governance, ESG integration, and the responsibilities of major corporations. He has been a central figure in debates about capitalism, sustainability, and the role of institutional investors. In 2024, BlackRock's acquisition of Global Infrastructure Partners for approximately $12.5 billion marked BlackRock's decisive expansion into private markets infrastructure, signaling Fink's conviction that the future of asset management requires a presence across both public and private market strategies.
