Futures trading, technical indicators, trading education

Larry Williams won the 1987 Robbins World Cup Trading Championship by turning $10,000 into over $1.1 million in real-money futures trading — an 11,376% return in one year. He developed the Williams %R oscillator and wrote more than 10 books on futures trading and market analysis. Williams is known for his work on commitment of traders (COT) reports, seasonal patterns, and predictive price modeling. His daughter Michelle Williams also won the same championship in 1997. He continues to teach trading methodology through seminars and publications. His development of the Williams %R oscillator — a momentum indicator that measures the level of the close relative to the high-low range over a specified period — has contributed a durable analytical tool to technical analysis that remains widely used across retail and professional trading platforms decades after its introduction.
