Kevin Sekniqi

Co‑founder and head of operations/strategy · Algorand, Inc.

Designed token distribution, staking incentives and node participation policies used in Algorand's mainnet governance.

Spearheaded the operational design of how ALGO is distributed, vested and earned by network participants by authoring and implementing tokenomics models, reward schedules and participation node policies. Delivered tangible artifacts such as vesting contracts, reward-distribution mechanics, and operational plans for testnet-to-mainnet transitions that determined initial supply unlocking, validator incentives and economic levers available to the protocol team. These actions defined the immediate liquidity profile at launch and the long-term issuance schedule that affects market supply dynamics. Led decentralization roadmaps that specified relay node topology, participation node rollout, and criteria for permissionless participation; operationalized governance milestones that dictated when and how foundation-held tokens would be allocated or delegated. Coordinated with engineering teams on telemetry, node performance benchmarks, and release gating, translating economic design into deployable configurations that validators and exchanges used for integration and custody. Engaged with institutional partners, auditors and the community to finalize policies on slashing (where applicable), reward eligibility and upgrade processes. Concrete decisions on reward rates, delegation rules and timing of token unlocks taken under his operational leadership had measurable effects on staking participation, validator economics and the immediate secondary-market behavior of ALGO tokens.
