Olivier Le Peuch

Olivier Le Peuch has served as CEO of SLB (formerly Schlumberger Limited) since August 2019, leading the world's largest oilfield services company through a period of radical transformation. A French engineer who spent his career at Schlumberger starting from field operations, Le Peuch brought a technology-first mindset and a conviction that the oilfield services industry needed to evolve beyond traditional drilling and completions services. Under Le Peuch's leadership, the company rebranded from Schlumberger to SLB in 2022 — dropping a name that had been synonymous with oil exploration for nearly a century. The rebranding signaled a strategic evolution: while traditional oilfield services remain the core business (reservoir characterization, well construction, production systems), Le Peuch has invested heavily in digital and integration technologies, including the Delfi cognitive E&P platform (cloud-based AI and data analytics for oil field optimization) and the Transition Technologies portfolio (carbon capture, hydrogen, geothermal, and energy storage solutions).
