Kevin Clark serves as President and CEO of Aptiv PLC, a global technology company focused on enabling the software-defined vehicle revolution. Aptiv was born from the 2017 spin-off of Delphi Automotive — Clark led the split that separated the higher-growth electrical architecture and electronics business (Aptiv) from the legacy powertrain business (Delphi Technologies, later acquired by BorgWarner). This strategic separation was one of the most successful value-creation moves in automotive supplier history. Aptiv designs and manufactures the electrical architecture — the nervous system — of modern vehicles. As cars become increasingly software-defined with more electronics, sensors, and compute power, Aptiv's high-voltage connectors, signal and power distribution systems, and software platforms become more critical and more valuable per vehicle. The company also develops advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and previously had a significant autonomous driving venture (Motional) with Hyundai. Clark's key decisions involve capitalizing on the software-defined vehicle transition, managing the balance between high-growth electrical architecture content gains and the cyclical nature of automotive production, R&D investment in next-generation vehicle compute platforms, and pricing strategy with major automaker customers.
