Kathleen Gaffney
Institutional fixed income, credit analysis, high yield and investment grade bonds, institutional asset management
Kathleen Gaffney spent many years at Loomis Sayles working closely with Dan Fuss on fixed income portfolios, developing deep expertise in credit analysis and multi-sector bond investing. She was co-manager of several major Loomis Sayles fixed income strategies and helped build the firm's reputation for flexible, value-oriented bond management. She subsequently joined Eaton Vance Management to lead institutional fixed income strategies. Her career spans multiple credit cycles and interest rate environments, giving her a comprehensive perspective on the dynamics of corporate credit, sovereign debt, and structured finance. She has been an advocate for active management in fixed income, arguing that credit selection provides alpha opportunities not available in index-tracking approaches, particularly in high-yield and emerging market segments.
