Scott Nuttall

Co-CEO of KKR · KKR and Co

global

Scott Nuttall serves as co-CEO of KKR alongside Joseph Bae, leading one of the world's largest and most iconic alternative asset management firms. Founded by Henry Kravis and George Roberts in 1976, KKR pioneered the leveraged buyout industry and was immortalized in "Barbarians at the Gate" for its $25 billion takeover of RJR Nabisco. Today, KKR manages over $600 billion across private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, and insurance — having evolved into a comprehensive alternatives platform. KKR's strategic differentiation lies in its insurance platform (Global Atlantic, acquired in 2021), which provides a large, permanent pool of capital that KKR can invest across its strategies — similar to Berkshire Hathaway's model of using insurance float. This captive capital source reduces KKR's dependence on fundraising cycles and provides stable management fees. The firm has also been a leader in democratizing alternatives, launching products that give retail investors access to private equity and credit strategies. Nuttall's execution on fundraising momentum, Global Atlantic integration and growth, investment performance across strategies, and fee-related earnings growth are the primary drivers of KKR's stock.
