Jochen Hanebeck

CEO of Infineon Technologies · Infineon Technologies

global

Jochen Hanebeck became CEO of Infineon Technologies in April 2022, having previously served as COO and chief of the company's industrial power control division. Infineon is Europe's largest semiconductor company and the global market leader in power semiconductors — chips that manage and convert electrical energy in everything from electric vehicle drivetrains to solar inverters to industrial motor drives. With over 20% global market share in power semiconductors, Infineon is positioned at the heart of the electrification megatrend. Under Hanebeck's leadership, Infineon has invested heavily in silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) — wide-bandgap materials that enable more efficient power conversion at higher voltages, essential for next-generation EVs and renewable energy systems. He oversaw the acquisition of GaN Systems and the expansion of Infineon's SiC manufacturing capacity in Kulim, Malaysia — one of the world's largest SiC fabs. The company's automotive segment benefits from the structural increase in semiconductor content per vehicle, which roughly doubles in EVs compared to internal combustion engine cars. Hanebeck's execution on SiC capacity ramp, his management of the semiconductor cycle (which creates significant revenue volatility), and Infineon's ability to maintain pricing power in a competitive landscape are the primary drivers of the stock. The structural growth of EV adoption, renewable energy deployment, and industrial automation provides long-term demand visibility.
