Commodity investing, global macro, emerging markets, agriculture

Jim Rogers co-founded Quantum Fund with George Soros in 1973 and helped generate a 4,200% return over 10 years before retiring. He then became a global macro investor and author, writing "Investment Biker" and "Adventure Capitalist" documenting world tours on motorcycle and car while researching investment opportunities. Rogers created the Rogers International Commodity Index and became a prominent advocate for commodity investing, particularly agriculture and metals. He relocated to Singapore and has been a vocal long-term bull on Asian markets and commodities for decades. His conviction on agriculture as a multi-decade investment opportunity — driven by demographic growth, arable land scarcity, and the under-investment in farming globally — remains one of his most persistent and distinctive macro theses, independent of shorter-term commodity price cycles.
