Neil Barua

President & CEO of PTC · PTC Inc

global

Neil Barua became President and CEO of PTC Inc in 2024, succeeding Jim Heppelmann who had led the company for over a decade. Barua previously led ServiceMax (the field service management company that PTC acquired in 2023) and before that held leadership positions at IQVIA. PTC is a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM), computer-aided design (CAD), and industrial IoT software used by manufacturers to design, manufacture, and service complex products. PTC's software portfolio spans the complete product lifecycle: Creo (3D CAD for product design), Windchill (PLM for managing product data and processes), ThingWorx (IoT platform for connecting physical products to digital systems), Vuforia (augmented reality for manufacturing and service), Codebeamer (application lifecycle management for software-defined products), and ServiceMax (field service management). Together, these products enable what PTC calls the "digital thread" — a continuous data connection from initial product design through manufacturing, quality, and aftermarket service. Under Barua's leadership, PTC is focused on several strategic initiatives: accelerating the transition to SaaS delivery, deepening integration between its product portfolio (so customers derive more value from using multiple PTC products together), expanding in the fast-growing ALM market (as products increasingly contain software), and leveraging generative AI across its tools. Key stock drivers include ARR (annual recurring revenue) growth, SaaS conversion pace, cross-selling success, competitive dynamics with Siemens (Teamcenter), Dassault Systèmes, and Autodesk, and the manufacturing sector's digital transformation spending.
