Jean-Laurent Bonnafé

Jean-Laurent Bonnafé has served as CEO of BNP Paribas since December 2011, making him one of the longest-serving leaders of a major global bank. A graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Mines de Paris, he is a quintessential product of the French grandes écoles system that produces the country's business and government elite. BNP Paribas under Bonnafé is the Eurozone's largest bank by total assets (over €2.6 trillion) and one of the world's most diversified financial institutions. The bank operates across three pillars: Corporate & Institutional Banking (capital markets, transaction banking, securities services), Commercial Personal Banking & Services (retail banking in France, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, and emerging markets), and Investment & Protection Services (asset management, insurance, wealth management).
