Jack Schwager

Jack Schwager spent over three decades as a futures analyst and portfolio manager before writing "Market Wizards" (1989), which became one of the best-selling trading books of all time. The series — including "The New Market Wizards", "Stock Market Wizards", and "Hedge Fund Market Wizards" — compiled in-depth interviews with legendary traders including Michael Marcus, Bruce Kovner, Paul Tudor Jones, and others. Schwager co-founded FundSeeder, a platform to identify undiscovered trading talent. He also authored technical analysis textbooks used in professional certification programs. His interviews consistently revealed common threads among great traders — including disciplined risk management, the importance of finding an approach consistent with one's personality, and the willingness to cut losses quickly — providing enduring lessons that remain as relevant for algorithmic and systematic traders as for discretionary ones.
