Ibrahim Yelmenoğlu leads Tüpraş as CEO, overseeing Turkey's sole major oil refining company. Controlled by Koç Holding (Turkey's largest conglomerate), Tüpraş operates four refineries — in İzmit, İzmir, Kırıkkale, and Batman — with a combined processing capacity of over 28 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The company supplies the vast majority of Turkey's refined petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and fuel oil. Turkey's position as a bridge between major crude oil producing regions (Middle East, Russia, Caspian) and European consuming markets gives Tüpraş strategic flexibility in crude sourcing.
