Fredric Tomczyk

Fredric Tomczyk became CEO of Cboe Global Markets in September 2023, succeeding long-time CEO Ed Tilly. Tomczyk brought extensive financial services experience as the former CEO of TD Ameritrade, one of America's largest retail brokerages, which he led through a period of massive growth before its $26 billion acquisition by Charles Schwab. Cboe Global Markets operates the world's largest options exchange by volume, home to the iconic VIX volatility index and SPX index options — products that are among the most actively traded derivatives instruments globally. Beyond options, Cboe operates equities exchanges in the U.S. and Europe, a growing global FX platform, and an increasingly valuable market data and analytics business. Under Tomczyk's leadership, Cboe is pursuing several strategic growth vectors: expanding its derivatives product suite (including 0DTE — zero days to expiration — options, which have driven a surge in retail and institutional options trading), growing its international presence through Cboe Europe and planned expansion into Asia-Pacific, building out its data and access solutions revenue (high-margin recurring streams from market data feeds), and cautiously positioning for digital asset derivatives.
