Architectural design of Sui, consensus stack decisions, testnet and mainnet releases

Led technical decisions that established the core protocol primitives used by Sui, including endorsing and driving the object-centric execution model that departs from account-based architectures. Those design choices directly shaped how Sui represents state, permits parallel transaction execution, and scopes shared-object contention, which in turn determined throughput characteristics used by validators and builders. Led the engineering organization at Mysten Labs during iterative testnet programs and the mainnet launch process, coordinating Narwhal & Tusk integration, validator client implementations, and release gates. These operational actions included defining block/epoch parameters, client upgrade paths, and performance tuning that materially affected node requirements, validator economics, and on-chain finality latency. Directed technical coordination with the Move language adaptations used on Sui and prioritized developer tooling and SDK work that lowered integration friction for dApp teams. Through public technical roadmaps and release notes, played a central role in signaling protocol upgrade timelines to exchanges, validators, and institutional actors, thereby shaping both on-chain behavior and market expectations around the SUI token.
