Protocol design, consensus rules, storage contract economics

Led the engineering effort that produced the Sia reference implementation and the on‑chain storage contract framework used by the network. Contributions included authoring and coordinating the codebase that implements Sia’s host/renter protocol, the proof‑of‑storage mechanisms, block and transaction formats, and the fee/mining reward logic that governs Siacoin issuance. Played a central role in setting storage pricing mechanisms and collateral rules embedded in the protocol, defining how Siacoin functions as payment inside storage contracts and how penalties and proofs affect token flows. Directly managed releases and protocol upgrades that changed wallet behavior, consensus parameters, and block validation rules, producing measurable impacts on token supply dynamics and miner incentives. Directed Nebulous Labs’ technical roadmap and later coordinated transition activities with the Sia Foundation, including code handoffs, grant disbursements, and governance proposals. Public statements and development roadmaps from these roles guided developer and host adoption decisions and influenced market perceptions of Siacoin’s utility and long‑term viability. Maintained a high‑visibility position in issue triage, GitHub pull requests and protocol discussions; those concrete actions (commits, releases, design documents) directly altered the protocol rules that determine how Siacoin is created, locked in contracts, and circulated in the ecosystem.
