Chase Coleman III

Chase Coleman III is a Julian Robertson protégé who founded Tiger Global Management in 2001 after working at Tiger Management. Tiger Global began as a long/short equity fund but increasingly shifted toward long-only growth technology investing, with particular early success in Chinese internet companies including JD.com and a variety of others. Tiger Global also developed a substantial private equity/venture arm that became one of the most active technology investors globally, competing directly with traditional venture capital firms. The firm invested in hundreds of startups at high growth stages, deploying capital rapidly. Tiger Global suffered significant losses in 2022 as high-growth tech valuations collapsed, but remained one of the most significant technology-focused alternative asset managers.
