Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor

Peruvian Billionaire & Bank CEO · Intercorp Financial Services

Peruvian banking sector, retail conglomerate building, Latin American middle class investing thesis, private sector education investment

Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor Jr. is the executive chairman of Intercorp, Peru's largest private sector conglomerate, whose holdings include Interbank (one of Peru's largest banks), InRetail (a major supermarket and pharmacy chain), and various education and real estate businesses. He inherited control of Interbank from his father and systematically expanded it into a diversified holding company, consciously modeling the structure on Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway — using the bank's stable earnings to fund investments in consumer-facing businesses targeting Peru's growing middle class. Rodríguez-Pastor has been one of the most significant private investors in Peru's economic development story, building enterprises that serve and employ millions of Peruvians. His education investments through Innova Schools created one of the largest private school networks in Latin America.
