Burst (pseudonymous creator of Burstcoin)
Designed and launched the original Proof-of-Capacity blockchain (Burstcoin) and its mining and wallet software
Initiated the first public deployment of a Proof-of-Capacity blockchain, publishing the initial codebase, genesis block and reference client that defined disk-based mining parameters and transaction formats. Those early technical decisions established specific block time, capacity plotting format, reward schedules and on-chain transaction types that downstream projects preserved or adapted during later forks and rebrands. Provided and maintained the reference mining and wallet software for years, submitting patches, hard-fork proposals and configuration changes in public repositories and community forums; these actions determined how mining plots were generated and validated and defined wallet transaction creation semantics used by successor networks. The ongoing stewardship of the code and coordination of network upgrades created a stable upgrade path that allowed the chain to be forked and renamed without breaking consensus rules. Participated in community governance and release coordination, publishing upgrade roadmaps and hard fork specifications which directly shaped economic parameters and feature inclusion. Those documented upgrades and implementation artifacts are referenced by Signum maintainers as the lineage and technical provenance for protocol choices, making the original creator a primary technical anchor for the instrument's architecture.
