Fabricio Bloisi

CEO of Naspers · Naspers

global

Fabricio Bloisi became CEO of Naspers and its international arm Prosus in 2024, bringing his experience as founder and CEO of Brazilian food-tech company iFood. Naspers is one of the most unusual companies in global capital markets: a former South African newspaper publisher that made a $34 million investment in Tencent in 2001, which grew to be worth over $100 billion — widely considered the single most profitable venture investment in history. Beyond the Tencent stake, Naspers/Prosus has invested aggressively in consumer internet businesses globally: food delivery (iFood in Brazil, Delivery Hero stake), classifieds (OLX Group in dozens of countries), fintech (PayU), and edtech (Stack Overflow, Skillsoft). However, the persistent "holding company discount" — where Naspers' market cap trades well below the value of its Tencent stake alone — has been a source of frustration for shareholders. Bloisi's mandate includes narrowing this discount through selective monetization of the Tencent stake and value creation in the non-Tencent portfolio. Bloisi's execution on reducing the holding company discount, growing the food delivery and fintech businesses to profitability, and managing the gradual reduction of Tencent dependence are the primary drivers of Naspers' stock price.
