Pivoted HPE from a traditional server/storage vendor to an edge-to-cloud platform company through the GreenLake as-a-Service model and $14 billion Juniper Networks acquisition.

Antonio Neri has served as President and CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise since 2018, leading the company's transformation from a traditional enterprise hardware vendor into an edge-to-cloud platform company. HPE was created in 2015 when Hewlett-Packard split into HP Inc. (PCs and printers) and HPE (enterprise servers, storage, networking, and services). Neri's signature strategic initiative is GreenLake — HPE's cloud-like consumption model that allows customers to run IT infrastructure on-premises but pay for it as a service, similar to public cloud pricing. GreenLake addresses the reality that most enterprise workloads still run on-premises or at the edge, not in public cloud. The platform now manages over $10 billion in total contract value. The proposed $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks (subject to regulatory approval) would transform HPE into a major networking player, combining HPE's compute and storage with Juniper's switches, routers, and AI-driven network management (Mist AI). HPE is also capitalizing on AI infrastructure demand, selling GPU-accelerated servers and high-performance computing systems. Key stock drivers include GreenLake ARR growth, AI server order momentum, Juniper deal closure and integration, server market share versus Dell and Lenovo, and the competitive dynamics between on-premises and public cloud infrastructure.
