Andrew Law
Global macro trading, currencies, interest rates, commodity futures, Caxton macro tradition
Andrew Law became CEO of Caxton Associates after the retirement of founder Bruce Kovner, taking over one of the most storied names in global macro hedge fund history. Caxton was founded in 1983 by Bruce Kovner, a legendary macro trader featured in Schwager's Market Wizards, and built a remarkable track record over decades through discretionary macro positioning across currencies, interest rates, equity indices, and commodities. Law has worked to maintain the firm's discretionary macro culture while adapting to the increasingly quantitative and algorithmic landscape of modern markets. Caxton converted to a family office managing only internal capital for a period before reopening to external investors. The firm represents one of the few remaining old-school discretionary macro houses with decades of institutional memory.
