Led design, development and mainnet launch of zkSync Era and orchestrated tokenomics and airdrop for ZK
Leadership at Matter Labs transformed research into a production-grade zkRollup used by the ZK token ecosystem. As founder and CEO, I directed the engineering roadmap that produced zkSync's zkEVM, drove mainnet releases, and coordinated security audits and formal verification, making trading and staking flows feasible for market participants. The influence on the token was practical and documented: I led the specification and public rollout of tokenomics, coordinated snapshot and airdrop mechanics, and announced governance pathways tied to on-chain upgrades. These operational decisions determined initial token distribution, vesting schedules, and mechanisms for community allocation, directly shaping supply dynamics and early liquidity. Technical choices overseen under this leadership—such as zkEVM compatibility decisions, prover architecture selection, and sequencing of data-availability optimizations—affected developer adoption, bridge design, and exchange listings. Those concrete engineering and product actions materially influenced how the ZK token was used, listed, and traded across centralized and decentralized venues.
