Maroc Telecom is Morocco's largest operator with leading market shares in mobile, fixed-line, and internet services. The company is majority-owned by UAE-based Etisalat Group (formerly Emirates Telecommunications Group). Under Ahizoune's leadership, Maroc Telecom expanded aggressively into Sub-Saharan Africa through its Moov Africa subsidiary, acquiring and operating mobile networks in 11 countries including Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Mali, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Niger, Central African Republic, and Chad.
